Welcome

Corey Marionneaux Founder/CEO

Corey’s lived experiences allow him to create programming that works because he intimately knows the people's struggles. It is through his own grit and growth mindset that BMCF was born as a groundbreaking idea. He sees the gap in the resources and support of black men through public and NGO programming.

Dear Esteemed Guests, It is with great pleasure and gratitude that I welcome you to our first annual fundraiser gala - REVITALIZE. This evening is a testament to the unwavering support and generosity of our community, and I am honored to stand before you as we come together for a noble cause. As the CEO of Black Men Coalition Foundation, I am deeply moved by the overwhelming response we have received for this event. Your presence here tonight signifies your commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of those in need. It is through your contributions and dedication that we are able to further our mission and bring about positive change. I would like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to our sponsors, donors, volunteers, and amazing staff who have worked tirelessly to make this gala a resounding success. Your selfless efforts have not gone unnoticed, and it is because of your collective support that we are able to continue our vital work in the community. Tonight, as we gather in celebration, let us also remember the purpose that unites us – to provide hope, assistance, and opportunity to those who rely on our assistance. Your generosity tonight will directly benefit our Supported Employment Housing development, and I urge you to give generously as we strive to create a brighter future for all. Thank you for joining us in this noble endeavor. Together, we can make a profound difference in the lives of many. With sincere appreciation, Corey Marionneaux Founder & CEO Black Men Coalition Foundation

Program - Employment Services

Our employment services provide a wide range of services to both the employer and the employees. For our employment partners, we help recruit and vet candidates that are reliable and capable of performing the job duties and present the attributes consistent with the values and culture that make up the work environment of the employer’s organization. We also provide support to the direct supervisors of these partners in strategies of managing a diverse workforce as we are in direct, regular communication with staff and the organization’s supervisors for however long our partners want us to be. We will also assist with the off-boarding process when an employee is no longer able to work, not a good fit, or chooses to no longer work for the company. Additionally, we provide support to all of the employees we refer to our employment partners by offering opportunities for self- development including, but not limited to, soft skills development, working in teams, financial literacy, and transportation. We also provide general safety training and workplace etiquette training in advance of employment. We also partner with organizations like the Building Trades to support them in diversifying their workforce. “Success is to be measured not so much by the position that one has reached in life as by the obstacles which he has overcome.” - Booker T. Washington

Program - Entrepreneurship

Black Men Coalition offers a startup accelerator program that provides entrepreneurs with mentorship and access to a network of industry experts and investors. The program aims to help early-stage startups grow and succeed by providing them with the resources, support, and nurturing they need to develop their businesses. The program is designed to foster innovation and help entrepreneurs turn their ideas into successful businesses. It provides a structured environment for startups to learn, grow, and connect with the resources they need to thrive in the competitive business landscape. We have partnered with BMO to provide a comprehensive program that encompasses a wide range of resources and support to empower individuals facing economic, social, or systemic challenges to start and sustain their own businesses. This program encompasses various elements to address the specific needs and barriers faced by vulnerable populations, aiming to foster economic independence, resilience, and community development. “I had to make my own living and my own opportunity! But I made it! Don’t sit down and wait for the opportunities to come. Get up and make them!” - Madam C. J. Walker

Program - Supported Employment Housing

“Affordable housing is not just a dream, it’s a basic human right. It’s time for us to demand that our leaders prioritize the needs of the people over the profits of the wealthy.” - Michelle Alexander Black Men Coalition will be breaking ground in 2024 with a supported employment housing development that will offer a vertically integrated program of employment, transportation, financial literacy, and employment housing. By unifying services, there is a more robust local economy through gainful employment, peer mentorships, concentrated case management, and built-in accountability. There will be 4-bedroom shared housing units, studio apartments, and 1-bedroom apartments with rents ranging from $600 - $900. This housing concept is designed to provide individuals with barriers to housing and/or employment with the necessary support and resources to secure and maintain meaningful employment while also offering stable and suitable housing options. Our programs aims to promote independence, self-sufficiency, and community integration for individuals who may face a number of barriers.

VALUE BUILDING

INDEPENDENCE BUILDING

Everyone wants to have value, to feel value, and to have their value appreciated.

Our growth requires learning. Learning often leads to changes. Changes are the building blocks to achieving goals.

With basic needs met, a strong sense of belonging and knowing one's value leads to a deeper development of self.

Page 13

Program - Transportation Services

Our transportation program aims to facilitate access to employment by removing the financial burden associated with commuting. By providing free transportation, we enable individuals to secure and maintain employment without being hindered by transportation- related challenges. Additionally, we seek to promote economic independence and self-sufficiency among participants by ensuring that they have reliable means of commuting to their workplaces. This also creates a sense of security for participants when they don’t have to worry about how they’re getting to work each day. The program has demonstrated its effectiveness in facilitating sustainable employment opportunities through enhanced transportation access. We have increased employment retention rates among participants, improved job access for underserved communities, reduced absenteeism due to transportation issues, and created overall economic empowerment of our participants. This has led us to obtaining two 14-passenger vans, two Caravans, and we will be adding an additional six 14-passenger vans to our fleet. “If there is no struggle, there is no progress. Embrace the journey of your daily transportation and let it fuel your determination.” - Frederick Douglass

Program - Youth Baseball League

“There’s not an American in this country free until every one of us is free.” - Jackie Robinson

T-BALL: This league for 4 to 5 year olds to learn about the game and have fun. The score is not kept, and players bat from a stationary tee. MACHINE PITCH: This league is for youth between the ages of 6 and 7 years old to learn fundamentals of defensive and offensive techniques in addition to other essentials of baseball. ROOKIE LEAGUE: This program is for 8 to 10 year olds, to dive more into the baseball rules and regulations. It will introduce umpiring, strikeouts, competitive play, and more. AAA BASEBALL: This program is for 10 to 12 year old players. Although the competitive aspects of the sport increase significantly, this league still emphasizes fun and player development. Players play many positions, but some begin to specialize. BMC launched a FREE Youth Baseball League in 2022 to increase participation among underserved youth, ages 4 to 12, to provide them with an opportunity to learn and enjoy the game of baseball. This is the first entirely FREE baseball league of this time in Wisconsin. In 2023, we had more than 350 youth participating in this league.

The Kernel of Truth

Kernel of Truth is a compelling story that delves into the lives of a group of male inmates who have found themselves confined within the walls of a prison due to their past bad choices. However, beyond their criminal exterior, they possess a depth of humanity and a desire for redemption. Together, they embark on a transformative journey by exploring their truths and crafting powerful monologues. Through their monologues, these incarcerated men discover the transformative power of self-expression, paving the way for personal growth, forgiveness, and ultimately, a chance at redemption. This story was created by Black Men Coalition’s CEO, Corey Marionneaux, written and produced by Antwan DP Taylor, and co- written by Kevina White.
