Program - Supported Employment Housing
“Affordable housing is not just a dream, it’s a basic human right. It’s time for us to demand that our leaders prioritize the needs of the people over the profits of the wealthy.” - Michelle Alexander Black Men Coalition will be breaking ground in 2024 with a supported employment housing development that will offer a vertically integrated program of employment, transportation, financial literacy, and employment housing. By unifying services, there is a more robust local economy through gainful employment, peer mentorships, concentrated case management, and built-in accountability. There will be 4-bedroom shared housing units, studio apartments, and 1-bedroom apartments with rents ranging from $600 - $900. This housing concept is designed to provide individuals with barriers to housing and/or employment with the necessary support and resources to secure and maintain meaningful employment while also offering stable and suitable housing options. Our programs aims to promote independence, self-sufficiency, and community integration for individuals who may face a number of barriers.
