TELL US ABOUT THE BACKGROUND OF YOUR COMPANY AND YOUR EXPERIENCE. Emily Rennie Design is an award- winning interior architecture and design studio specialising in period properties across South West London. My background spans estate agency, property development and hands-on renovation, so I bring both aesthetic sensitivity and practical know-how to every project. I work primarily on Victorian and Edwardian homes - wonderful properties with lots of character but often compromised by layout, storage and flow. My role is to unlock their potential, creating spaces that feel calmer, more intuitive and beautifully aligned with modern living. Clients come to me when they want their home to look considered and refined, but also to work effortlessly day to day. CAN YOU TELL US ABOUT YOUR CUSTOMER PROCESS? Every project begins with listening - I take the time to understand how people live, what isn’t working and
what they hope the space could become. From there, I explore layout options and early design direction so clients can make decisions with clarity and confidence. Once the concept is agreed, I develop detailed drawings and specifications such as cabinetry, lighting, joinery, materials and finishes to give clients and contractors everything they need for accurate pricing and a smooth build. I can also support with procurement and on-site coordination to ensure the finished result reflects the vision we’ve created together. My aim is to guide clients through the process with ease: clear communication, thoughtful design and calm, steady support from start to finish. WHY SHOULD PROPERTY INVESTORS APPOINT AN INTERIOR DESIGNER? The true value of a property lies not only in what it is today, but in what it could be. With my combined experience in design and the London property market, I can quickly identify
where investment will make the greatest impact - improving flow, enhancing appeal and increasing long-term value. For investors, this means informed advice before committing to a purchase, design that elevates desirability and a finished product that photographs beautifully and resonates with buyers or tenants. It’s about unlocking potential with both creativity and strategy. WHAT DO YOU MOST ENJOY ABOUT YOUR JOB? There’s a moment near the end of every project when a client walks into their transformed home and you see the shift - the space suddenly feels right. That feeling of harmony, ease and belonging is incredibly rewarding. I love the alchemy of turning possibility into reality: taking a home that doesn’t quite work and reshaping it into one that supports daily life beautifully. Helping people rediscover joy and connection in their homes is, for me, the best part of what I do.
