TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT THE BACKGROUND OF YOUR COMPANY Lucy Wood Architects was established in 2018 with a commitment to providing the highest quality professional advice to discerning Clients undertaking construction work in the residential and hospitality sectors. The construction industry has a reputation for being unreliable and unpredictable. At Lucy Wood Architects, we support our Clients through all Stages of a Project, buffering them from the coal face. We offer Pre- Purchase Advice, Architecture, Interior Architecture, Planning Consultancy, Cost Control, Contract Administration and Project Management. WHAT IS YOUR CUSTOMER PROCESS? We start with a brief positioning exercise to ensure that the Project reflects our Clients’ aspirations and priorities: That is, of course, the Architecture and Interior Architecture,
our meeting, we prepare a second set of sketch plans which reflect the discussions and from this build a Pre-Construction Programme and Order of Cost Estimate (capturing an estimate of the construction costs, VAT, contingency, interiors budget, professional consultants’ fees and statutory and regulatory application fees). From there, we work to Fixed Fees by Stage based on the time we expect to invest in each aspect of the Project. We consider this to be a considerably more equitable approach than fees based on a percentage of estimated construction cost favoured by most Architects as it allows us to work hard managing costs on our Clients’ behalf - without one eye on the effect on our fees. We work with sketch floorplans and 3D massing models to investigate Concept Designs during this work. We then meet with our Clients, introduce the ideas, and collaboratively discuss the various pros and cons of each approach. After
