TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT THE BACKGROUND OF MARJORAM ARCHITECTS Marjoram Architects is a design-led architectural practice specialising in residential projects across South London and the surrounding Home Counties. Collaboration is at the heart of what we do. We believe every client, family and home is unique, and we take pride in creating tailored design solutions that respond to individual lifestyles, aspirations and challenges. By working closely with our clients throughout the process, we create homes that are not only beautifully designed and crafted but enhance everyday life. WHO OR WHAT INSPIRED YOUR PASSION FOR HOME DESIGN? Our passion comes from helping homeowners unlock the full potential of their properties. Every project presents a unique set of opportunities, and we enjoy finding the right solution for each client. We are inspired by the positive impact thoughtful design can have on daily life. Seeing a client’s vision realised and creating spaces that bring enjoyment, functionality and lasting value is what drives us.
HOW DOES YOUR CUSTOMER PROCESS WORK? Every project begins with an initial consultation to understand our clients, their aspirations and how they want their home to work for them. Establishing trust and a strong working relationship from the outset is a key part of the process. We understand that home improvement projects can feel daunting, particularly for first-time clients, so we approach every commission with an open mind and without preconceived solutions. Our role is to guide clients through every stage of the journey, combining creativity, technical expertise and clear communication to develop designs that reflect their ambitions. Every project is led by a dedicated Project Architect with Director support throughout, alongside input from a trusted network of specialist consultants where required. Our most successful projects are built on genuine collaboration, resulting in architectural solutions that are both highly personal and thoughtfully considered.
TELL US ABOUT A PROJECT YOU ARE PARTICULARLY PROUD OF The projects we are most proud of are those where collaboration has led to something truly unique. We enjoy seeing an initial brief evolve into a solution that not only meets practical needs but exceeds expectations. Watching clients embrace the design journey and ultimately enjoy a home that feels perfectly tailored to them provides the greatest sense of achievement. HOW DO YOU WANT A CLIENT TO FEEL WHEN YOU HAVE FINISHED WORK ON THEIR PROJECT? We want our clients to feel that their home is a true reflection of who they are, distinctive, personal and perfectly suited to their lifestyle. Most importantly, we want them to feel that the finished design has improved the way they live every day. Whether through better use of space, stronger connections to light and landscape, or simply creating a home that brings them joy, our aim is always to deliver a result that feels both deeply personal and rooted in the collaborative design process.
