TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT THE BACKGROUND OF YOUR COMPANY LRAR is a design-led architecture and interiors practice with studios in Brighton and London. For over twenty years, we have worked with private residential clients to create considered, high-quality homes. Our work is rooted in the belief that good design should elevate everyday life — bringing both clarity and joy to the process and the finished building. HOW DOES YOUR CUSTOMER PROCESS WORK? Every project begins with open, collaborative conversations. We explore ideas widely at the outset to ensure the initial design captures the full potential of the brief. From there, we refine and test those ideas — balancing ambition with practical considerations such as budget, planning constraints, and

programme. The design evolves iteratively, with the aim of arriving at a solution that feels both resolved and genuinely exciting for the client. WOULD YOU BE ABLE TO ADVISE A CLIENT PRIOR TO EXCHANGE OF CONTRACTS? Yes — this is a key part of our role. We regularly advise clients at the earliest stages of a purchase, from initial “should I buy this?” decisions through to understanding planning potential, design opportunities, and likely costs. This early input often proves invaluable, helping clients make informed decisions and unlock value over both the short and long term. HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE A TYPICAL OUTCOME FOR A CLIENT AND THEIR PROJECT? The outcome is both emotional and technical. We want our clients to

feel a genuine sense of enjoyment and pride in the spaces we create — hence our mantra, “we bring joy.” At the same time, projects are delivered with rigour: carefully managed, well-coordinated, and built to a high standard. Our sister company, LRA Build, allows us to extend that continuity into construction, giving clients a true single point of contact from concept through to completion. WHAT ASPECT OF YOUR WORK DO YOU MOST ENJOY? Architecture is endlessly varied — every site, building, and client presents a new set of challenges. While we are deeply passionate about design, the most rewarding part of our work is the relationship with our clients. Building trust, guiding them through the process, and seeing their ambitions realised is ultimately what makes the work meaningful.
