TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT THE BACKGROUND OF YOUR COMPANY. Shape Architecture is celebrating its 20th year as an RIBA chartered practice this year. Founded by our Director Jason Wren. We work on residential projects of all types and size across Brighton and Hove and throughout London. Our reputation for transforming properties is recognized by the RIBA as we were one of only 30 practices to be featured in their own publication ‘ House Goals: Design with Architects: Transform Your Home. Our projects are characterised by the use of light.
WHAT IS YOUR CUSTOMER PROCESS? We start by visiting a potential client to discuss their project and explain the process. The visit is free of charge and carried out by our Director. We then write to our potential clients stating the brief, our services and the associated fees. We are very flexible and are happy to be appointed for any range of services that the client requires. Our services are set out as a menu with the fee for each activity declared. Once appointed, the first step is for us to visit and undertake the survey from which we produce a measured survey brochure and issue this to our clients. Following this we will move onto the design of a number of proposed options. Each clearly described with 3D computer visualizations. Our Director then visits the clients to discuss the proposals from which the preferred option will emerge. This stage is then completed with our submitting of the planning application on behalf of the client. Following planning approval we then move onto the detailed technical development of the project. We will design all elements from bathrooms to lighting design and bespoke joinery. We will also be working with structural engineers, party wall surveyor and building control during
this period, always supporting our clients as their agents. We then carry out a competitive tender process to achieve best value with a range of contractors with whom we have established relationships with. Once the contractor is selected we put the building contract in place and the project starts on site. This period sees us visit site on a regular basis, dealing with any site issues or changes to the design and handling the project finance. At the end of the project we also assist the client in the settlement of the final account. WHY SHOULD PROPERTY INVESTORS CHOOSE SHAPE FOR THEIR PROPERTY RENOVATION ? We have been established for some twenty years and have a vast array of experience. We also have long established relationships with a range of consultants and contractors. All of whom contribute to a successful project. Our work is creative and underscored by technical expertise. WHAT ASPECT OF YOUR WORK DO YOU MOST ENJOY?
