TELL US A LITTLE ABOUT THE BACKGROUND OF YOUR COMPANY. RM Plumbing was founded in 2017 and has quickly become a trusted name for plumbing and heating services across Wiltshire. What makes us unique is that we’re a true family- run business — every member of our team is part of the family, and we bring that same sense of care and commitment into every job we take on. We cover all aspects of plumbing and heating, from complete installations to the smallest of repairs. Our expertise includes air source heat pumps, gas and oil boilers, bathroom installations, hot water cylinders, underfloor heating, as well as commercial gas and plumbing services. Whether it’s routine servicing, urgent breakdowns, or large- scale projects, our goal is to provide reliable solutions that customers can count on, all delivered with the personal touch that only a family business can offer. WHAT ASPECTS OF A NEW HOME WOULD YOU SUGGEST PEOPLE PRIORITISE WHEN PLANNING RENOVATION WORK? When moving into a new home, it’s very easy to focus on the visual elements — kitchens, bathrooms, décor — but the plumbing and heating
systems should always be at the top of the checklist. The hot water system is vital; it needs to be checked to ensure it’s operating correctly and delivering good water pressure throughout the property. The heating system is equally important, from ensuring radiators are working efficiently to making sure the boiler is safe and reliable. The last thing any new homeowner wants is to face unexpected breakdowns during their first winter. I can speak from personal experience — when I moved into my own home, I discovered the heating and hot water systems didn’t work at all, despite supposedly being “checked.” A proper inspection early on can save a lot of stress and expense later, so my advice is always: prioritise the essentials that keep your home warm and functional. HOW HAVE YOU BUILT SUCH A STRONG REPUTATION LOCALLY? Our reputation has grown steadily thanks to three key principles: reliability, communication, and respect. We pride ourselves on being prompt and dependable, turning up when we say we will and keeping our customers fully informed at every stage of the job. Communication is essential, and we make sure our customers always know what’s happening and why. Beyond the technical side of things, we place huge importance on how we carry
out our work — being tidy, courteous, and respectful of our customers’ homes. Plumbing and heating jobs can sometimes feel disruptive, so we strive to make the experience as smooth and friendly as possible. It’s that consistent quality, combined with the trust we’ve built, that has helped RM Plumbing become a go-to name in Wiltshire. WHAT ASPECT OF YOUR WORK DO YOU MOST ENJOY? For me, the best part of the job is meeting people and helping them find the right solutions for their homes. Every property and every customer is different, and I enjoy the challenge of tailoring our work to deliver exactly what they need. There’s also a real satisfaction in the hands-on nature of plumbing and heating installations. I love rolling up my sleeves, getting stuck in, and seeing a project through from start to finish. Whether it’s fitting a new heating system, installing a bathroom, or solving a tricky plumbing problem, there’s a real sense of pride in standing back at the end of the job and seeing
the results. It’s about more than just pipes and boilers — it’s about improving homes and making life easier for the people who live in them.
