Thank You Pharoahs Car Club! T he Pharoahs Car Club of Alabama will once again be the Host Club for the 2nd Annual Mobile Bay Street Rod Nationals. They will be helping with registration, the swap meet, and trailer parking. NSRA would like to say thank you in advance to all the club members. Here is a brief history of the club. The Pharoahs Car Club was founded in 1948. They started in Modesto, California, where the story plot of the movie “American Graffiti” took place. The younger school kids in Modesto formed the Fraternity called the “Faros” in 1957. They were too young to be in the adult car club made up of WWII and Korean War Vets called the “Pharoahs.” The Faros were the group that George Lucas wrote about in the movie. They were his classmates. Today, the Pharaohs Car Club is an international club with Chapters across the United States and internation- ally in Japan, Australia, Finland, the United Kingdom, Norway, Canada and Mexico. The Pharoahs Car Club of Alabama was started in early 2019. JoJo Johnson is the current President of the Pharaohs in the International Eastern Division. Chris Rabig currently leads the Mobile, Alabama, Chapter of the Pharoahs Car Club of Alabama. Brock Meador is the Car Club’s Planning Coordinator for this event. They have formed a planning committee within the club and have been closely working with NSRA to help plan the Mobile Bay Nationals and make it a great success. The Pharoahs Alabama Committee Members listed are as follows: Chris Rabig, Brock Meador, Jim Williams, Gary Bohannon, Ron Lutz, Joseph Perry, Craig Wolfe and David Jenkins. Kick-off Party & Open House Metal Brothers Hot Rods will host an Open House on Thursday of the Mobile Bay Nationals starting at 4pm at their shop, 6220 Theodore Road, in Theodore, Alabama. The Metal Brothers team promises a good time for all. They will have BBQ, music, great fellowship and, of course, a chance to see all their amazing projects in the building process. You will not want to miss this! Saturday Entertainment The “Martini Shakers” will perform on the outdoor stage at the Mobile Bay Nationals on Saturday afternoon. The Martini Shakers story began in 2001 in Birmingham, and they have been shakin’ it ever since as a duo or trio in high-energy shows all over the southeast. They keep things close to their early roots, playing Rock & Roll, Country, R&B and, of course, Rockabilly music.
