SKIP THE DISHES PULLING OUT OF U.S. TO FOCUS ON CANADIAN MARKET The Winnipeg-based online delivery service Skip the Dishes, which started in Saskatoon and is head- quartered inWinnipeg, partnerswith12,000 restau- rants across the country, 600 of them in Manitoba, is going to focus on its Canadian marketing after reaching an agreement with the delivery service Grubhub that will see the company move out of the U.S. Market. Skip the Dishes will transition operations of their six markets in: Buffalo, N.Y.; Omaha, Neb.; St. Louis, Mo.; and Cincinnati, Cleveland and Columbus in Ohio to its Chicago-based competitor Grubhub. No terms of the deal were disclosed by either Grubhub or Skip the Dishes however, they have said that details will be released as the companies get closer to completing the transition.

SET, GAME, MATCH FOR NIKE WITH SURPRISE ENDORSEMENT DEAL

Tennis star, Naomi Osaka swished the sports endorsement world then she aced an endorsement deal with Nike Inc. leaving their U.S. sports brand’s rival, Adidas AG wondering what went wrong in the match. The sports world had been anticipating that Adidas would pay a record sum to renew a clothing endorse- ment with No. 1-ranked Osaka, who seized global media attention by defeating Serena Williams at last year’s U.S. Open. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed as many other global brands jump on board Team Osaka after her high-profile win against Williams at the U.S. Open launchedOsaka into stardom as the new face of tennis with international appeal, especially for advertisers chasing younger, more diverse shoppers.
