awarded the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee medal for his distinguished service to Canada. His businesses have been included in Canada’s fastest growing companies and the Top 50 Employers in Canada. He also received Western Engineering’s L.S. Lauchland Alumni Medal in 2018. Westeinde is an Honorary Colonel in the Canadian Armed Forces, is the Founding Chairman of Invest Ottawa and the founding vice-chair of the Bayview Yards Innovation Centre in Ottawa and serves on the Board of Directors of the Conference of Defence Associations, the Ottawa Community Land Trust, the Ottawa Film Office, and several private sector Boards. Engineering runs deep in the Westeinde family tree. Jeff and his wife Colleen, who is also an engineer, both have fathers who are engineers, and three of their five children work in engineering careers. Westeinde is an avid adventurer whose passion for mountain climbing (he has summited three of the world’s “Seven Summits”), sailing, skiing, golfing, and fishing are a distant second behind his love for his family.
