TELUS WORLD OF SCIENCE – EDMONTON Just like professional engineers and geoscientists, filmmaker James Cameron has a passion for science, technology, and exploration. So it was only natural for us to sponsor the James Cameron – Challenging the Deep exhibition at TELUS World of Science – Edmonton. For the first time ever, visitors can view the Deepsea Challenger, the high-tech submarine Cameron co-designed and piloted on his record-breaking dive 10,908 metres to the bottom of the Mariana Trench.
TELUS SPARK Our sponsorship of TELUS Spark’s Gadget program helped the science centre’s guides delight visitors by wearing high-tech costumes. Inconspicuous at first glance, the costumes released a beautiful set of wings at the touch of a button. One set of wings mimicked the feathers of a red-tailed hawk. Another resembled wings from a Leonardo da Vinci sketch of human flight. A third set flaunted its flair and colours. The wings were designed by Calgary artist Kath Blair.
