Executive Summary

The University of Liverpool is seeking to appoint an industry leading Building Services professional to take up the key role of Senior M&E Engineer. The University of Liverpool has a diverse and complex property portfolio, incorporated within the main Liverpool City Centre Campus and associated satellite sites. Many of the buildings and assets within the portfolio are listed or are of historic importance so any construction, refurbishment or modernisation works must be carefully considered and delivered to an exemplar standard. You will report to the Head of Engineering Services Group, part of the Capital Projects Team led by the Director of Capital Projects and Estate Strategy. You will provide support to colleagues of Facilities, Residential and Commercial Services (FRCS) on all construction and maintenance related projects overseeing the procurement of projects being managed by the University’s approved consultants and contractors, within the value band of circa £25k to £120m. You will work closely with Minor Works Project Managers and Mechanical/Electrical Consultants and Maintenance Surveyors to ensure projects are delivered to acceptable standards, within the agreed programme and within the approved budget allocation in a safe way following the Health and Safety policies of the University. You will work to support the Head of Engineering Services Group in facilitating improved levels of integration between the relevant sections of FRCS by establishing agreed performance standards, project procedures, processes and methodologies related to the building engineering services and infrastructure. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a Building Services professional to take up a leadership role across a diverse, complex and large-scale estate portfolio in a vibrant city.
