Care Of Hotel Property Great care, attention to detail, and considerable expense are involved in the maintenance of our Hotel. As an employee of the Hotel, it is your responsibility to take extreme care working with the materials, equipment, and products of the Hotel. The prevention of breakage, theft and misuse of Hotel property is an important part of the Hotel's Standards of Conduct. Disciplinary action will result for any employee not following our property care standards. In the case of theft, criminal action may be taken. Understanding and following the proper care of our Hotel ensures continued success for everyone. Accident Prevention Accident prevention is a vital part of The Ritz-Carlton. The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Company, L.L.C. works hard through its corporate division and operations facilities, to provide the proper equipment, maintenance and working conditions so you will be safe while at work. Disciplinary action may be taken in the event unsafe work practices are observed. Your safety performance is an important part of your responsibilities and your performance appraisal. Report all accidents or incidents immediately to your manager. Non-Violence The Ritz-Carlton will not tolerate violence in the workplace. Ritz-Carlton strictly forbids, under penalty of termination: § Possession of a weapon on company premises. § Fighting, hitting, pushing, or otherwise striking another person while on company premises or arising out of company business relations. § Threatening either open or veiled, verbal, or physical, a guest, customer, vendor, or another employee.
Our primary safety responsibilities are the protection of our employees and guests, their property, and the assets of the Hotel. As employees, we are all responsible for executing reasonable care in the protection of our hotel, guests, and fellow employees. While the Hotel does employ a Loss Prevention staff, its effectiveness can be best enhanced by the involvement of everyone. Listed below are safety standards that you are to follow to assist in our loss prevention efforts: § Never open a hotel guestroom door for anyone. If a guest has lost his/her key, direct them to Front \Desk. § Never give out a hotel key without positively identifying the guest through guest registration. § Never leave keys out. At the Front Desk, always keep the room keys off the desk. If you find a key, bring back to Front desk. § Do not discuss and never give out who is staying in the Hotel, their names or room numbers with anyone. § Do not leave your cash-bank unattended or unlocked for any amount of time. You should never let anyone "work out" of your bank! § Never take any of your hotel keys (work keys) home with you after work. Never lend your keys to another employee. § Never display or count cash in public view. § Never give out any information about current or former employees - their names, addresses or telephone numbers. Refer any inquiries about employees to the Human Resources Department. § Do not leave personal valuables in an unsecured area.
