fire presents an ever-present danger to our employees and guests, it is your responsibility to be informed of the fire safety processes for your respective department and work area. When you hear the evacuation signal you should: § Shut off any equipment you might be using. § Immediately evacuate yourself and those around you. § Take your payroll attendance sheet with you if you have been appointed to do so. § Close the door behind you if you are the last person out of your work area. § Following the EXIT signs, calmly walk to the nearest safe exit. NEVER use elevators. § Go to your department's evacuation area, once out of the Hotel. § Do not re-enter the Hotel until the fire department has given approval. If a fire, smoke, or unusual heat is discovered or suspected, there are four steps that should be followed; use the acronym CAPE: CLOSE THE DOOR Even if this is the only step you take, it will delay the growth of the fire and the spread of smoke. ALARM Pulling an alarm performs two vital functions. First, it alerts others in the area of a potentially threatening situation. Second, it activates our fire alarm system, which initiates an immediate response by our Hotel fire response team. PHONE THE HOTEL'S EMERGENCY NUMBER This is the number of your Property's emergency operator. State your name, location, and the extent of the fire emergency. Do not hang up until you are directed to do so. EVACUATE Once you have performed the first four
It is your responsibility to report any on the- job accident to your manager and to Loss Prevention immediately or within 24 hours of the accident, regardless of the extent of the injury. If an on-the-job injury results in lost time, you must notify your manager or the Manager on Duty and Human Resources. You are required to provide a written doctor's statement from a Company authorized physician of your inability to work. Prior to returning to work, you are required to provide Human Resources with a written doctor's release before you are scheduled to work. Please remember that failure to report accidents can result in a violation of legal requirements, disciplinary action, and can lead to difficulties in processing your insurance and benefit claims. Reporting Emergencies Should you encounter any emergency situation in the Hotel, call the Hotel Emergency Number immediately! 02 818 9999 Be prepared to tell the operator: 1) Your name 2) The type of emergency 3) Your location Do not attempt to treat a guest with first aid unless you have proper training. If possible, without endangering yourself, stay at the scene, remaining calm and assisting as appropriate. The operator will contact the appropriate person qualified to handle the situation.
