Energy Conservation With the increased cost of natural gas, electricity, and water we all need to look for ways to reduce energy waste. Please: 1) Turn off lights when leaving an unoccupied area. 2) When possible, make use of natural light. 3) Keep your work areas clean. Clean surfaces reflect light better so less artificial light is necessary. 4) Do not operate equipment unnecessarily. 5) Do not waste water. 6) Report any leaking faucets, toilets, showerheads, etc. to your supervisor. 7) Turn off heating and cooling systems in unoccupied offices. 8) Keep outside doors closed. 9) Conserve energy - it's money saved! Efficient energy use is imperative and is the responsibility of all of us. Please be conscious of waste. Get in the habit of turning out lights, turning faucets off and reporting to your manager any energy saving tips you may have. Energy conservation is a critical part of your job.
steps, inform employees, visitors, and guests in the immediate area to exit the building using the fire exits (stairs). Elevators should never be used. Emergency Response Team The Emergency Response Team is formed to create and maintain an active and quick response to a fire alarm or emergency and to help with the evacuation of guests and employees. Fire Prevention These guidelines assist in preventing potential fires: § Observe standards regarding "No Smoking" areas. § Throw cigarette butts into proper receptacles, not into elevator shafts, laundry chutes or wastepaper baskets. § Never allow papers, oily rags, soiled linen, or other flammable materials to accumulate. Spontaneous combustion, an electric spark or a carelessly thrown match may cause a serious fire. § Avoid putting flammable objects (i.e., paper, oils, etc.) too close to broilers, stoves, or high wattage lamps. § Make sure that containers with flammable materials are sealed tightly at all times. § Immediately report any loose or frayed electrical cords or wiring, broken or defective electrical appliances to your manager or the Engineering Department. § Report any suspicious persons you may see.
