‘Iolani Bulletin Vol.63 | No.3 | 2025

The annual ‘Io Society dinner brought us together for hours of laughs, memories, and looking forward to great things to come for the campus. We heard from and saw many who have benefited from the generosity of alumni, parents, and supporters of the school. Attendees sharing great times included Kathe Warner, Paul and Shizuko Mow , Stephen and Lori Sasaki, Robert and Irene Wong, Stuart and Michele Nakamoto, Kent and Lydia Takazawa , Kent and Debbie Otsu, Takeshi Saeki, and Aaron and Haruko Kam. We had so much fun that by the time we thought about taking a photo together, we were all spread out amongst the 800-plus guests. With invitations to attend the ‘Iolani Alumni Celebration, our class showed up in Las Vegas for a 40-ish reunion weekend. The reunion’s Friday evening dinner saw lots of catching up with classmates and an overall great time. The Saturday main event at the Aria Resort and Casino brought together fellow alumni to honor the career of Dr. Carey “Doc” Inouye ’66 and celebrate exciting school updates from Head of School Dr. Timothy Cottrell. Not to be outdone, we showed up in our stylish Sakura design shirts. Representing our class were Lynn and Tennyson Lum Jr., Gabriella and Matt Bright, Gregg Matsuura, Dean Wakuzawa, Jeff F. Tom , Christine and Michael Yee, Debbie and Kent Otsu, Berwyn Ito, John Ohari, “BG” Collins , Thomas Youth, Garrett Lau , Takeshi Saeki, Aaron Kam , and Stephen Sasaki. One of the great class events we’ve always enjoyed is dinner with the Head of School. We spent an evening this year with Tim and Hiroko Cottrell, coordinated by Kathe Warner, Thomas Youth, Takeshi Saeki, and Stephen Sasaki. It was definitely a night to remember. As a class, we’ve thoroughly

enjoyed the time given to us at these dinners and we thank Dr. Cottrell for leading the school through the many changes during his tenure. ’ 83 Class Representative JAMIESON POE The Class of 1983’s official 60th Birthday Celebration will be held in Las Vegas on June 6 and 7.
