Imua and Yearbook Shine at National Journalism Convention

Imua and Yearbook leaders attended the JEA/NSPA National High School Journalism Convention in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, in November, gaining insights from industry professionals and workshops on leadership, design, photography, and writing. Beyond the convention, the group explored the city, visited

colleges with ‘Iolani alumni, and even ran up the iconic Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. “Ka Mo‘olelo O ‘Iolani” was recognized in Jostens’s prestigious “Look Book” for its outstanding yearbook design and storytelling. A special thanks to the McDermott and Oda Endowment for making this experience possible!

Sixth Grade Camp The Class of 2031 had an unforgettable adventure at Camp Mokulē‘ia in November, enjoying a multitude of activities, including astronomy lessons, swimming, team-build- ing, and ziplining. Students bonded over campfire stories, games, and T-shirt decorating on O‘ahu’s beautiful North Shore. A big thank you to the sixth-grade teachers and Upper School counselors for making this incredible experience possible.

Visit From the Catholic Diocese of Polynesia On November 13, Archbishop Sione Ulu‘ilakepa, Principal Mrs. Losana Vao Latu Latu, and Mr. Fe‘iloakitau Kaho Tevi visited ‘Iolani School to strengthen ties between our school, the Anglican Diocese of Polynesia, and the Episcopal Diocese of Hawai‘i. Their visit honored a shared history through Bishop Alfred Willis. During their time on campus, they attended a Chapel service, visited classes, met with administrators, and toured the school. ‘Iolani is grateful for their visit and the meaningful connections built.
