National Chinese Honor Society Induction Congratulations to the newest members of the National Chinese Honor Society, who were inducted in a special ceremony on November 15 in St. Alban’s Chapel. Established in 2011, the ‘Iolani Chapter of the society is dedicated to promoting Chinese language studies. This year’s inductees were recognized for their commitment to excellence in learning Chinese language. This year's inductees are Brenden Bell, Ryan Chan, Annie Chang, Chloe Chen, Mari Cheng, Jeremy Choi, Nicholas Hoshida, Michael Hui, Zion Junk, Rimi Keahi, Keisuke Kwong, Sherbie Lam, Gloria Lau, Bryson Leong, Kalden Lu, Nikki Ma, Keon Preusser, Juliana Shi, Tuloa Smith, Summer Thym, Ashley Tsang, Kalani Wong, Anrric Xu, Dylan Yasuhara, Allison Yee, and Maesilyn Yuen.
Class of 2029 Dance The Class of 2029 had a fun-filled evening at their winter-themed event, “Ice Ice Baby,” enjoying pizza, dancing, lawn games, cookie decorating, and “Frozen” sing-alongs. A highlight of the November event was the Ice Cakes from Waiola Shave Ice, which added to the festive atmosphere.
Class of 2030 Dance
The seventh-grade Glow Bash dance in November was a night of fun, music, and glowing neon energy. Students enjoyed a delicious dinner from Raising Cane’s, a build- your-own ice cream bar, dancing in a glow-lit Seto Hall, and outdoor games, including cornhole and Jenga.
‘Iolani Esports All ‘Iolani Esports teams finished their regular season in November with winning records, qualifying for championship playoffs in League of Legends, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, and Valorant. The Varsity League of Legends team secured the top seed in the Hawai‘i High School Athletic Association state championship with an undefeated 8-0 record, while the Junior Varsity team earned the third seed with the same record. The Varsity Super Smash Bros. Ultimate team claimed the third seed in their state playoffs, and both Valorant teams qualified for national and state tournaments.
