also open to fewer students. For those students who are already actively working in their business, we have piloted an independent study option where the students receive academic credit for their entrepreneurial business experience combined with coaching from a faculty entrepreneur. Once again, our approach to curriculum emphasizes mentorship, matching our Sentry School philosophy of teaching students what they need to know, but also teaching The Entrepreneurship Club has existed for several years but has waned in influence and energy along with our other entrepreneurship activities. Reinvigorating the club will help strengthen the entrepreneurial culture in the Sentry School. A revitalized club will connect students to each other to provide a supportive and creative environment as they start their entrepreneurial journeys. The Entrepreneurship Club has done great work in this area, bringing in alumni and speakers to them how to apply that knowledge. Entrepreneurship Club and Activities
talk with the group. The club has also organized visits to companies and attended The Pitch in Appleton to support their fellow entrepreneurs and to learn from experiencing the process. All in all, the Entrepreneurship Club gives students a self-directed way to increase the energy and excitement around entrepreneurship in the Sentry School. Looking to the Future Although a lot of work has been done in the past few years, our efforts are ongoing. The Build the Basin project, and the Strategic Doing framework that guides it, are designed to be organic and evolving processes. We are always looking for interested participants to lend their time and talent to meet the group’s common goal. A third workshop is planned for fall 2025. Similarly, the Sentry School is always looking for entrepreneurship event ideas, mentors for our students, and new partners. Please reach out if you are interested in joining the work. Together we will help build the entrepreneurial ecosystem of Central Wisconsin.
