Toshiba Carrier UK has appointed Dublin-based Viridus Energy to distribute its full range of air conditioning products in Ireland, expanding an existing partnership between the two companies. Viridus Energy takes over from GT Phelan, Toshiba’s previous partner for more than 40 years. Tom Lyons, Managing Director of Viridus Energy, said, “Our seasoned team, with a collective experience of more than 40 years, has worked closely with Toshiba Carrier UK and other leading manufacturers, securing some of the most robust industry knowledge.” David Dunn, Toshiba Carrier UK Managing Director at Carrier Global Comfort Solutions Europe, said, “We wanted continuity as a partner, and Viridus have an awareness of the construction market from top to bottom. £20M GRANT SCHEME TO SUPPORT INVESTMENT IN ENERGY-EFFICIENT EQUIPMENT
A new £20m fund will extend grant support to Northern Ireland businesses purchasing and installing energy-efficient equipment that will help reduce energy consumption and carbon emissions. The five-year programme is now open for applications and will offer grants of up to £150,000 for investment in areas such as lighting, heating and cooling equipment, motors and drives, compressed air systems, and on-site renewable energy generation. Launching the Energy Efficiency Capital
