APPRENTICESHIP DEGREE PROGRAMME

Are you an employer in the engineering sector looking to retain, upskill and attract new talent or an employee looking to progress to a senior management role?

EXCELLENT CAREER DEVELOPMENT OPPORTUNITIES ARE NOW AVAILABLE FOR QUALIFIED CRAFT APPRENTICES THROUGHOUT IRELAND, INCLUDING A LEVEL 7 BSC DEGREE IN ENGINEERING SERVICES MANAGEMENT (APPRENTICESHIP MODE) DELIVERED BY MUNSTER TECHNOLOGICAL UNIVERSITY… Supporting progression into management

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS This apprenticeship degree is aimed at employees with a Level 6 Advanced Craft Certificate who are looking to transition from their trade qualification to an engineering qualification. However, it will also suit employees who are already in or about to move to senior management roles but do not have a degree qualification in the engineering sector to do so. Munster Technological University (MTU) is now offering a Level 7 BSc Degree in Engineering Services Management (Apprenticeship Mode) qualification. The two-year, part-time, blended-delivery apprenticeship degree programme has been developed by the School of Mechanical, Electrical and Process Engineering at MTU. A unique aspect of this programme is that it is aimed at both employees with a Level 6 Advanced Craft Certificate in an engineering discipline, who are now looking to move into supervisory, management and leadership roles, and employers who are looking for ways to retain, upskill and attract new talent into their organisation. An industry-led Apprenticeship Degree programme, it has been developed by a Consortium Steering Group chaired by the Construction Industry Federation (CIF) with MTU as the educational provider.

internationally-recognised qualification. Another benefit to employees is that the structure of this apprenticeship programme, together with the support of the employer, means that attending college one day a week while continuing to work for their employer over the other four days is far more achievable than juggling a part-time degree programme with busy work and personal commitments. Employees can expect to study modules such as Smart Technologies, BIM, Industrial Building Service, Lean, Maintenance and Utilities while also gaining softer skills in areas such as Project Management and People Management.
