Hello from the Callawassie Island Women's Club (CIWC)! This past month, our president, Mar- garetMary Gestaut, hosted a beautiful luncheon for the new Board members to meet with the outgoing Board. While we indulged in a delicious lunch of quiche, shrimp salad, sweet berries, yummy dessert and sips of champagne, the 2021 - 2022 Board shared their expertise and experiences of serving on the Board with the newbies. A good time was had by all. The new Board is very excited about taking on their new roles. They will be meeting over the summer to plan many fun and interesting programs and events for the upcoming year. Not yet a Women ’ s Club member? We would love to have you join us. It is a great way to meet your neighbors and get involved in the many activities on our beautiful island. The club typically has meetings from September to May, excluding January, on the second Tuesday of each month. Meetings are followed by an optional lunch especially prepared by the Chef. Did you know? If you plan on having visitors, don ’ t forget about the W ee Chicks and Lame Ducks! It is a wonderful program under the umbrella of the Callawassie Island Women ’ s Club and consists of an inventory of infant and young children ’ s equipment, from cribs to high chairs, car seats to toys and bikes. Items are up - to - date by recognized standards. They are a blessing for travelers who don ’ t or can't bring everything when they come to visit. The Lame Ducks inventory encompasses many items necessary while recuperating from an operation or during rehabilitation. Looking Ahead The Callawassie Island Women ’ s Club will kick off the upcoming year with a reception in September! Look for more information to follow, along with plans for our special programs and events. We wish you and your families a fabulously fun and relaxing summer!
