This course will address the importance of self-care and building resilience. Working with students is rewarding, but it can also be exhausting. To keep up with the demands of dealing with challenging behaviors, working with families, and the day-to- day responsibilities of classroom/case management requires a full cup of resiliency. This course will provide you with simple strategies to help you keep your cup full. We will use reflective activities to help you determine the best plan for creating and maintaining balance in your personal and professional life.

Intended Audience

Special education teachers, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, site administrators, district administrators, school psychologists, and school counselors.

Effective Classroom Strategies for Students with Mental Health Disorders SOCIAL/EMOTIONAL SUPPORTS

In this workshop, educators will learn about the most common mental health issues among children, and how they manifest as behavioral problems in the classroom. Particpants will be introduced to effective classroom strategies to reach and teach children with mental health challenges.
