The purpose of interconnecting MTSS and school-based mental health systems is to create a school culture and climate that promotes wellness (i.e., social emotional, behavioral, and academics) of the whole child. Participants will learn strategies to support the needs of all students, especially those at-risk for or with mental health challenges. Participants will learn how to develop a multi-tiered system of prevention and intervention through the lens of data, systems, and practices.
Intended Audience
Special education teachers, general education teachers, paraprofessionals, site administrators, district administrators, school psychologists, school counselors, and support staff.

Participants will review how Social Emotional Learning (SEL) will fit within their tiered system of supports and gain an understanding of the “what, why, and how” of SEL. They will be provided with evidence-based activities to support the five SEL competencies within their daily practice. Participants will also be introduced to free SEL curricula that can be embedded within all tiers.
