Q . San Jose, California — “Is our old body raised and changed? Do you think that a child w ill have aged by the time it gets to heaven?” A. Actually, the reverse is true: our old body is changed and then raised. We read of this in I Corinthians 15:51- 58. Our old bodies will indeed be transformed and fashioned like unto His glorious body. As far as a child aging by the time it gets to heaven, a better word would be “mature.” Many mothers have lost little ones in infancy or early child hood. They long to see their- babies in heaven. Our belief is that when a child dies, it immediately matures. One certainly wouldn’t want to wheel a child around in heaven; it would not enjoy the fullest glories of our Sav iour. Nor would you want to see the child mature mentally but not physi cally? It would be a very unjust situa tion. In the goodness and providence of God surely all will be matured in heaven. Q . Medford, Oregon —“/ would like help

tion. The Spirit of God gives us the heart of the believing one of Israel. “Thy dead men shall live, together with my dead body shall they arise. Awake and sing, ye that dwell in dust: for thy_dew is as the dew of herbs and the earth shall cast out the dead” (verse 19). Here is the glorious resur rection. The end view must never be overlooked. Q . Denver, Colorado— “/ gathered from your program that you do not believe the Ten Commandments are for us. Can you tell me any better standard by which to live?” A. Where did you get this idea? Every one of the Ten Commandments, except one, is repeated in the New Testament. Certainly we are to abide by these commandments. (There is one com mandment that is not repeated in the New Testment. This is the fourth, dealing with the keeping of the Sab bath day.) The Commandments were given, first of all, to children of Israel as the perfect moral code by which they were to live. We are not under the Jewish law. The Ten Command ments, however, have to do with the moral standards that are set down in the Word of God. These certainly are for us. If one wanted to get technical and answer the question, “Can you tell me of a better standard by which to live?” we would point to John chap ter 13:34, “A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one an other; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” God’s moral (continued on next-page) 23
