Are you looking for ways to stay busy as the end of summer rolls in? Look no further — here are five ideas to consider in and around San Diego. Hillcrest CityFest On Sunday, Aug. 10, check out CityFest, a street festival that takes over nine city blocks with live music, local vendors, and a lively beer garden. It’s considered one of the best art and music festivals around, and the best part is it’s free! San Diego Padre Home Games For all baseball lovers and their families, Petco Park is the place to be! Whether you catch an evening game or enjoy an afternoon at the park, the open-air stadium is a great place to catch a game. In August, they’ll be playing the Cardinals, Red Sox, Giants, and Dodgers at home, and during September, they’re scheduled to take on the Orioles, Reds, Rockies, Brewers, and D-backs! San Diego Bayfair Are you ready for San Diego’s largest beach festival? From Sept. 12–14, Bayfair is back!
Held annually at Mission Bay, it’s recognized as part of the World Series of Powerboat Racing. It’s a full weekend festival packed with action on and off the water. The event features hydroplane races, including H1 Unlimited hydroplanes, which are among the fastest boats in the world. In addition to racing, you can expect live music and DJs, vendors, and family fun! Adams Avenue Street Fair Join the community for San Diego’s largest free two-day music festival on Sept. 20–21, featuring over 75 musical acts across seven stages, craft beer tastings, food vendors, and local artisans. It’s an event you won’t want to miss! San Diego Distillers Guild Fest On Sept. 23, sample spirits from over 20 craft distillers at Liberty Station’s Arts District. This event pairs fine spirits with delicious bites from local food trucks. The festival has been a hit since 2019 — let’s keep it going!
