Box Manufacturing Olympics For many years, TAPPI’s acclaimed international Corr- Pak competition and AICC’s Packaging Design Competi- tion, have showcased highly creative talent across the cor- rugated industry. This year, those two competitions reach new heights as they join forces to present the debut of the exciting 2021 Box Manufacturing Olympics at SuperCorr- Expo 2021. The deadline to apply is Friday, June 11, 2021, at supercorrexpo.org/bmo . The first-ever Box Manufacturing Olympics will feature innovative designs created over the last two years and en- tries will be available for viewing on the Expo Floor. There is a total of 43 categories and winners will be announced daily. As part of the competition, all SCE attendees will have the opportunity to vote for the Best of the Industry winners, who will be announced on the last day of the show. Entry in the Box Manufacturing Olympics is open to all TAPPI and AICC members from around the world who produce commercial corrugated, rigid box and folding cartons, as well as their suppliers, including U.S. and in- ternational corrugated manufacturers. Packaging schools and universities are also invited to participate in the com- petition and have their own categories and requirements. Anonymous entries are invited to submit as well. All entries will be prominently displayed during SCE 2021 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. Entry is not dependent on attending, nor do winners need to be onsite to win. Safety First A top priority for TAPPI and AICC is keeping attendees safe. Together, the City of Orlando and the OCCC have im- plemented new cleanliness measures in accordance with policy recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). In collaboration with Visit Orlando, OCCC also offers a medical concierge program with Orlando Health and, along with Orlando Internation- al Airport, OCCC has achieved the Global Biorisk Adviso- ry Council’s (GBAC) Star Accreditation for its coronavirus cleaning and prevention efforts. It is one of the largest venues in the nation to receive this status. Additional measures currently include: • Masks required for everyone’s safety • Contactless registration with badge kiosks (for those pre-registered) • Plexiglass barriers at registration • Temperature checks conducted • Social distancing throughout the event with floor stick- er guides • Hand sanitizer stations • Show floor sanitized daily Visit supercorrexp.org for details on the four-day event, one of the most influential packaging shows in the Western Hemisphere.
