Module 1. Money, Money, Money Fellows will build financial literacy by: Exploring financial aid opportunities (distinguish between scholarships, grants, loans/interest for post-secondary pathways) Examining basic debt concepts and common debt pitfalls Module 2. Ready, Set, Qualify Fellows will attend two FAFSA Partner Agency webinars on campus to learn how to complete the FAFSA. Webinars are free; parent(s)/guardian(s) are encouraged to attend
Module 3. Lean on Me
Fellows will create a support system by reconnecting with Champions and recruiting family members/friends to lean on throughout their Y2 and Y3 journeys
Project: FAFSA + Financial Review
Fellows and parent(s)/guardian(s) will participate in a series of FAFSA preparation webinars and 1:1 support sessions to complete and file the FAFSA application Fellows who are seeking alternative financial aid will complete all necessary applications with support from their Program Director, Champion, school guidance counselor, and family member/friend
Assessment: Money Matters
Fellows will complete a quiz to assess their mastery of important financial concepts and FAFSA- specific vocabulary.
