My Journey Map
The advisory curriculum guide is divided into sections called Destination Units . Ballou STAY students will engage in a hybrid (blended) learning experience by completing e-learning modules within the Destination Units . Destination Units Advisors will require Checkpoints along their advisory journey to engage Ballou STAY students in one-on-one conferences. Students will also be required to complete a Conference Form. Advisors will use the Conference Form as an opportunity to check-in with students and take a closer look at their progress, praise their successes, and discuss any needed solutions. These Checkpoints also give Advisors the chance to help students recharge when they are low on energy from the demands of academic expectations, thereby redirecting those who may have encountered external roadblocks and helping others find comfort in traveling an unbeaten path due to shifts in their everyday lives. Checkpoints Ballou STAY students are required to complete assignments throughout each Destination Unit to ensure they are meeting advisory learning expectations. The G.P.S. Checklist Assignments are activities that demonstrate the mastery of learning new skills that support Ballou STAY students as they pursue a variety of postsecondary education and employment opportunities during and after their high school graduation. These assignments must be submitted to earn an advisory grade. Module Assignments are activities that reinforce the learning of new skills. These assignments are considered advisory participation but may or may not earn an advisory grade. G.P.S Checklist Assignment & Module Assignments
