Zanth has served as mayor of Clarence- Rockland since 2021, after sitting as a mem- ber of city council starting in 2014. During his time on Clarence-Rockland council and the city’s mayoral representative on UCPR council, Zanth has supported a variety of community initiatives, infrastructure projects, and programs for the region’s vulnerable residents, along with supporting charitable programs and community projects. His priorities for 2026 as UCPR warden include: supporting the development of modern and resilient infrastructure for the region, including the future widening of County Road 17, modernizing regional policies to aid in providing access to hou- sing, promote sustainable development, and innovative solutions for delivery of regional services. He noted that the past year has been a busy one for him with a large number of meetings for him to attend while handling both his duties as mayor of Alfred-Plantage- net and the demands as UCPR warden. “I’m looking forward to taking care of my PXOQFPQMFJONZPXOUPXOTIJQ uIFTBJE Laviolette indicated that the main chal- lenge he recalls for the UCPR during his past year as warden was dealing with a number of critical roadwork and other infrastructure projects. He also noted that the end of his term was to have included the official ope- ning of the new Prescott-Russell Residence but unexpected delays with some of the final work on the project have pushed the official opening of the new long-term care seniors retirement home to next year.
