How to produce water out of thin air

A water cooler debate is a fixture of any office with staff gathering to gossip around the taps – but never before has the cooler itself been the topic of conversation.

However, if your company decides to take advantage of the world-leading innovation supplied by office solution specialists Elmrep, then your staff will be left pondering just how you produce water from thin air. Yes, you read that right. A machine now exists that is able to produce water from the air. Skywell has been developed with patented technology that can produce hot and cold water without needing to be connected to the water mains or have a cumbersome plastic bottle attached. All it needs is an electrical outlet, and some humid air. Lee Summers, managing director of Eastern Avenue- based Elmrep, said the latest addition to their long list of office solutions takes some explaining. “When you say to a customer that we have a product that can produce water out of thin air, they think we are joking,” he said. “But then we show them the brochure or they come to see it in our showroom and they can fully understand how it works and even taste the water! “When you add in the amount you’ll save in terms of water from the mains or from plastic bottles, plus the fact that it can be put practically anywhere, it really starts making sense.” The Skywell can generate up to 18 litres of clean drinking water every day – that’s more than 36 pints or enough water for more than 70 cups of tea. It works by taking in ambient air and collecting the moisture through condensation before putting it through a six-stage water filtration system, ultraviolet purification and ozone treatment. This process removes any contamination to create pure clean drinking water, that can be dispensed at a crisp
