Business Continuity Grant

This interim guidance is based on what is currently known about coronavirus (COVID-19). The Tasmanian Government will update interim guidance as needed and as additional information becomes available. This interim guidance is to help everyone plan for community transmission of coronavirus in Tasmania. There is much to learn about its transmissibility, severity, and other features of the disease . We want to help everyone prepare their response to this public health threat.

The health, safety and wellbeing of Tasmanians is our number one priority as we face the challenge of coronavirus. We also recognise the need for Tasmanian businesses to prepare for the resumption of normal operations. The Tasmanian Government is providing $700 000 to help Tasmanian businesses to trade through and survive the economic impact of COVID-19 and accelerate recovery when the situation improves and trading restrictions are lifted.

Business Continuity Grant To assist small business fight the economic impact of COVID-19 and prepare the foundation to set Tasmania up for a rapid recovery when the situation eases, one-off grants of up to $750 are available through the Business Continuity Grant. These grants will support Tasmanian businesses to engage the services of a suitably qualified person to advise on business continuity planning. Eligibility To be eligible for Business Continuity Grant financial assistance you must: • Have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for GST. • Not be subject to any legal impediment, including bankruptcy or liquidation. • Receive the advice from a suitably qualified consultant (eg CPA, CA).
