Welcome message from
Bryan Ingleby Chair
Charles Fowles Lead Governor
Thank you for your interest in joining the Board of Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust and for taking the time to read this information pack.
We are seeking an outstanding individual to join us as a Non-Executive Director on 1 April 2026. You will bring fresh thinking, strong values and a genuine commitment to our communities. You may or may not have previous Board level experience, however you will have experience with digital transformation, data and emerging technologies, including AI, to support the Trust at a pivotal moment in its journey. Frimley Health is one of the largest NHS Trusts in the country, with a strong and well-established reputation for performance, quality and innovation. We are proud of what we have achieved, but we also recognise that the future presents new and complex challenges from rising demand across emergency and elective care, to reducing health inequalities, strengthening system partnerships and delivering sustainable services in a highly constrained financial environment.
Alongside these challenges sits a significant opportunity. Through digital transformation, intelligent use of data and responsible adoption of new technologies, we can improve patient outcomes, enhance staff experience and work more effectively across our system. Our ambition for the future is set out in our FHFT 2030 organisational strategy and clinical strategy, aligned to the NHS Long Term Plan and the Government’s three strategic shifts. These are underpinned by our people, digital and estates strategies, reflecting our commitment to being one of the best places to work in the NHS. This includes our participation in Wave 1 of the New Hospital Programme, with a £1.8bn investment to design and build a new Frimley Park Hospital a once-in-a-generation opportunity to transform care for our communities. At Frimley Health, our people are our greatest strength. As a Board, we are committed to fostering an inclusive, compassionate culture where our values and behaviours are lived every day and where colleagues feel supported, valued and able to deliver outstanding care. If you are passionate about people, inclusion and how the future of the NHS can be developed using modern technologies, I warmly encourage you to consider applying. If you would like to explore the role further, we would be delighted to speak with you.
Bryan Ingleby, Chair & Charles Fowles Lead Governor.

Frimley Health 2030: A new era for our trust
We launched our new 5-year strategy (FHFT 2030) in May 2025.
FHFT 2030 is about transforming how healthcare is delivered for our communities, through developing new models of care, improving experiences for colleagues and consistently delivering better quality outcomes.
FHFT 2030 describes how we are going to achieve our vision of being compassionate, effective and modern in all that we do, by:
focussing on our four strategic objectives: highly satisfied patients, engaged people, modern infrastructure and excellent quality. And ensuring our behaviours are always guided by our values: committed to excellence, working together and facing the future. We aim to continue to make Frimley Health a great place to deliver and receive care – now and in the future.
The Trust at a Glance
Our new hospital journey
Our brand-new NHS hospital will offer local people the most modern and advanced diagnoses, treatment, therapy and care, and it will play a central role in enhancing health services across community settings and at home. This will mean faster diagnosis and treatment, more people cared for, better experience and outcomes and a great place to work that attracts and keeps fantastic staff.
The NHS is investing approximately £1.8 billion to create the new hospital and other improvements to our local NHS services.
The new hospital is essential because our old, current buildings were not designed for either modern health services or the needs and numbers of patients and local people today. It was also built in 1970's with RAAC concrete, which we now know is unstable. The current Frimley Park has served us very well, but a new hospital is needed to offer the best health care, using new technology, capable of providing the latest advances in medical expertise and technology and be flexible to adapt to new health demands and changing clinical science. The recently announced NHS 10 Year Plan has also provided the opportunity to align the new hospital development to support the wider improvements and investments that are planned for our three main hospital sites and local and neighbourhood health services.
This includes an opportunity to increase theatre capacity at Heatherwood Hospital, a centre of excellence for non-emergency care.
We remain firmly on track for construction of the new Frimley Park Hospital to begin between 2028 and 2029. Our target timeline outlines our path to construction. You can read more about it here
