Board Leadership and Strategy
Work collaboratively with Board colleagues to shape and agree the Trust’s overall strategy, business plan and corporate objectives. Contribute to the development of ambitious yet practical plans that respond to current and future challenges. Support the delivery and ongoing review of the Trust’s organisational and clinical strategies, including digital, estates and people strategies. Contribute to effective decision-making and constructive debate, ensuring robust challenge and high-quality Board discussions. Governance, Risk and Assurance Seek and obtain assurance that the Trust complies with the regulatory framework governing NHS Foundation Trusts, including all legal and statutory duties. Ensure high standards of corporate and clinical governance are maintained, in line with the Foundation Trust Code of Governance, the UK Corporate Governance Code and FRC Guidance on Board Effectiveness. Assess organisational risk, ensure appropriate mitigations are in place and help the Board set strategic priorities. Oversee financial planning and performance against Trust strategy, ensuring robust financial controls and risk management processes are in place.
