Dr. G. Kearnie Keegan, former pastor of Temple Baptist Church, Los An­ geles, and now secretary of the Stu­ dent Department, Baptist Sunday School Board, has completed a new book, “Your Next Big Step,” pub­ lished by Broadman Press. Dr. Billy Graham introduced the pic­ torial report of his 17,000 mile “ Safari for Souls” across Africa, with the premiere of the new film, “Africa on the Bridge.” The showing took place in Washington, D.C. Rev. Lowell Wendt, pastor of the Hope Union Church of Rosemead, has been elected national president of the In­ dependent Fundamental Churches of America. Rev. Glen Lehman is execu­ tive secretary of the organization. Dr. William Culbertson, president of Moody Bible Institute, has announced plans for construction of a new aca­ demic building for the historic school. The four story structure will contain 20 classrooms, 43 faculty offices, as well as housing an audio-visual cen­ ter and missionary radio laboratories. Miss Eugenia Price, well known au­ thor and speaker, has completed an­ other volume for Zondervan Publish­ ing House, “ Strictly Personal.” The book is designed to answer, in the affirmative, the question, “ Can one establish a personal relationship with God?” Dr. Oswald J. Smith, missionary pas­ tor of the Peoples Church, Toronto, Canada, has announced that this year members of the historic group have raised $314,000 for missions. The ma­ jority of the amount is for foreign ministry. Miss Ethel Wallis, co-author of “Two Thousand Tongues to Go,” has just completed another new volume, “ The Dayuma Story,” a biography of a na­ tive Auca Ecuadorian. The volume will be released this month by Har­ per and Brothers. Included is an epilogue with pictures by Rachel Saint. Her brother Nate was slain by the Aucas. Dr. Alfred H. Ackley, famed composer of numerous gospel songs, went home to be with the Lord on July 3 after complication which arose due to can­ cer. With his brother B. D. Ackley, the two wrote more than 5,000 songs and choruses. Mrs. Helen Frazee-Bower, well-known poetess, author, and hymn writer died June 25. Her funeral was held in Compton, California. Mrs. Bower’s poems and articles have appeared fre­ quently in “The King’s Business.” Her husband, Br. William Bower, has set a number of her writings to music.

Africans and Evangelist friend. Wide Pictures will release in October a full length dramatic feature, “ Sha­ dow of the Boomerang.” The 90- minute film will feature Georgia Lee and Dick Jones. Dr. Charles F. Pfeiffer, professor of Gor­ don Divinity School, is editing a new Bible atlas for students of the Scrip­ ture. The volume, to be released January, 1961, will be published by Baker Book House of Grand Rapids, Michigan. Dr. E. Leslie Carlson and Dr. Martin H. Scharlemann are serving as consulting editors. The midwest pub­ lishing firm will also release a special filing system for ministers which will be announced next month. Mr. Ransom Marvin, former staff member of “ The King’s Business,” and Washington pastor, died of a brain tumor June 19 in Oak Park, Illinois.
