Circle of Winners Fifty cars will be on display during the Sunday Awards Ceremony showcasing the following awards: 10 Alumicraft Street Rod Grilles “Pros’ Picks;” 2 GM Truck Town “People’s Choice” selections; 7 NSRA Safety Reps selections; 5 “Mopar Country” winners; 3 House of Kolor “Outstanding Use of Kolor” Picks; 3 “UPS Commercial Way” Picks; 2 “Long Distance” recipi- ents; 2 “ISCA” Picks; 2 Vintage Air “29 Below” selections; 5 NSRA Autocross winners, 7 NSRA Field Force selections, Louisville Mayor’s selection and a Kentucky Venue selection. They will be on display until the end of the Sunday Awards Program. Major Awards
Three vehicles will be selected from those par- ticipating and special UPS awards will be pre- sented to the winners during the Sunday Awards Program. Eligible vehicles are designed and produced with an O.E.M. intent based on the transportation of goods and materials. Anyone wishing to have their vehi- cle eligible for an award will be required to be in the UPS Commercial Way display area by 1:30pm. Vintage Air 29 Below The Vintage Air 29 Below contest will be held on Saturday, August 2, from 1pm to 2pm. Merchandise will be given away in addition to a special T-shirt and dash plaque that will be given to each participant. Applications will be accepted at the Vintage Air booth prior to the actual contest or may be submitted at the site of the contest. Association & Club Participation Those interested in entering the competition for Association or Club Participation awards should sign up at the NSRA/StreetScene Magazine Booth in the Exhibit Building no later than 4pm Saturday, August 2. NSRA Autocross NSRA Autocross will produce the quickest win- ners in five categories: 1908-1963, 1964- 1995, 1996 to present, 1917-1995 Trucks and Ladies with 1908-1995 models. The awards will be presented during the Sunday Awards Program. On Sunday, August 3, a list of those select- ed to receive one of the 50 “Major Awards” will be posted at the Information Booth and the NSRA/StreetScene Magazine Booth and these vehicle owners should bring their vehicle to the “Circle of Winners” area “Q” indicated on the Expo map on page 62 in Freedom Hall by 10am to be displayed until the end of the Awards Program. Car entrance to Freedom Hall is behind the building opposite the front entrance. The locations of all these activi- ties can be found on the Expo map in this program on page 62.
NSRA Field Force Selections Each of our Division Directors and their State Reps select one outstanding vehicle that belongs to an active rodder and is present at the Street Rod Nationals. The criteria used to select them will be the same as that of the “NSRA Merit Award,” which is excellence in construction, design and safety of the vehicle. The award is one that exhibits the qualities of a dedicated rodder who partici- pates in activities and operates their vehicle in a safe manner. NSRA Safety Selections belongs to an active rodder and is present at the Street Rod Nationals. The criteria used to select them will be the same as that of the “NSRA Safety Award,” which is excellence in construction, design and safety of the vehicle. The award is one that exhibits the qualities of a dedicated rodder who participates in activities and oper- ates their vehicle in a safe manner. Long Distance Those interested in entering the competition for the “Long Distance Continental USA” or “Long Distance Outside Continental USA” awards should sign up at the NSRA/StreetScene Magazine Booth in the Exhibit Building no later than 4pm Saturday, August 2. Alumicraft Street Rod Grilles Pros’ Pick Each of our Chief Safety Inspectors and their State Inspectors select one out- standing vehicle that The Alumicraft Street Rod Grilles “Pros’ Pick” will be held on Friday, August 1, from 10am to 3pm. A group of professional judges will select 10 vehicles from those participating. There will be a special area set aside and anyone wishing to have their vehicle eligible
for an award will be required to be in the Pros’ Pick area by 12 noon. Alumicraft Street Rod Grilles will present special awards to the winners during the Sunday Awards Program. GM Truck Town People’s Choice Auto Metal Direct (AMD) along with Harrison’s Rod and Custom will present “GM Truck Town.” A display of fif- teen handpicked AMD-
equipped GM trucks will be on display in the North Wing and public voting will deter- mine two winners. Awards will be presented at the Sunday Awards Program. ISCA Pick Representatives of the International Show Car Association will tour the grounds to select two
vehicles from all participants for one of the two “ISCA Pick” awards, one for ’48 and ear- lier vehicles and one for ’49 and later. A spe- cial award will be presented to the winners during the Sunday Awards Program. Mopar Country Mopar Country will be held on Saturday, August 2, from 9am to 1pm. Five outstand- ing Mopars will be selected from those partici- pating at that time and awards will be pre- sented to the winners during the Sunday Awards Program. Outstanding Use Of Kolor Representatives of House of Kolor will tour the grounds to select three vehicles from all the participants for an “Outstanding Use of Kolor” award. Special plaques will be presented to the winners at the Sunday Awards Program. UPS Commercial Way The UPS Commercial Way will be held on Thursday, July 31, from 12 noon to 3pm.
