Ladies Tea Lady rodders have a special activity all their own at most of the NSRA events. The Ladies Tea gives them a chance to relax and chat with old friends and new acquaintances. The Ladies Tea here at the Street Rod Nationals is sponsored by Louisville Tourism and the Kentucky Exposition Center and it gets bigger every year as more of our lady participants enjoy a time at the events that is just for them. This year’s Ladies Tea will be held on Thursday, July 31, from 1pm to 2:30pm in KEC’s South Wing C-Second Level. The large gathering now offers speakers, fashion shows and other fun activities as well. Women’s World Arts & Crafts and much more! Every NSRA event has a special area to appeal to the ladies. Appropriately named Women’s World, the feature includes arts and crafts and other goodies. It can include handmade items, collectibles, antiques and jewelry—always a great place to browse and enjoy! Many craft items are indigenous to the area and therefore unique and collectible, making it interesting for the guys as well, not to mention they make terrific gifts. Guys don’t forget this is a great opportunity to buy a surprise gift for that special someone! Shopping Mall Buses The NSRA and area Chamber of Commerce have arranged for chartered buses to take lady rodders from the fairgrounds to the Outlet Shoppes of the Bluegrass. The passenger buses will pick up ladies at the Expo Center on Friday, August 1, beginning at 9:15am and will continue to run until the last pickup at 1:45pm for arrival at the Expo Center by 4:45pm. On Saturday shuttle service to Derby City Gaming will be available and
both are a Tram Stop and can be found on the Fairgrounds Map and Legend on page 62. Kid Zone A great addition to the event over the past couple years has been inflatable games! Backyard Bounce Event Services from Turners Station, Kentucky, will be bringing new and exciting inflatable games for the kids to enjoy free Thursday thru Saturday from 9:30am to 4pm during the 56th Street Rod Nationals. Located in the North Wing next to the Food Court, these games inflate to amaze, whether in Jurassic Adventure or playing Giant Checkers, Giant Cup Pong, Chip Shot Golf, or Mini All Star Basketball, it’ll be a wild time for the kids.
