E ven before the Street Rod Nationals South in Knoxville, Tennessee, started May 3-4, early arrivals were invited to Scott’s Hot Rods

“East Tennessee Demijohns” lifted spirits with their bluegrass performance. Keith and Lollie Krogmeier presented Games while Charlie Bryson oversaw the Coloring Contest. Southeast Chief Safety Inspector Rusty Holcomb’s Safety Inspection Team completed a total of 65 inspections with 61 passing and of those 56 received the Safety 23 sticker. After a performance by “Southern Steel Band” the Awards were handed out and those in atten- dance seemed happy to have Sunday to cruise home, especially as younger participants look for- ward to Monday morning commitments. Like the lucky three participants who stuffed $2,000 into their pockets after the $weep$take$ drawings, everyone headed home in good spirits. We’re sure many were disappointed to find out the South wouldn’t be on the 2025 NSRA Event Schedule, but will be excited to hear the 51st Street Rod Nationals South will be on the 2026 NSRA Event Schedule in Johnson City, Tennessee, May 8-9, 2026. We hope you’ll make the trip with us.

Event Registration was taken care of by Annette and Mike Harbin, Ann Rose, Diane Miller, Lesa Seibel and the Volunteer Street Rod Association who also organized the Swap Meet and has served as the South’s Host Club ever since it came to Knoxville. As a club, they cele- brated their 54th Anniversary in 2024. On Friday morning Chilhowee Park & Exposition Center began filling with rain-soaked rodders eager for the skies to clear. By mid-day they did and the
