Special Activities for the Nationals

A t the 55th Street Rod Nationals in 2024 one vehicle was selected as the 2023/2024 Alumicraft Street Rod Grilles “Pros’ Pick of the Year.” The NSRA congratulated Dennis and Suan Strobel along with their Korek Designs-built ’50 Ford F1 for their win. Also at the Street Rod Nationals in 2024, builders displaying cars in the Moser Engineering-sponsored Builders’ Showcase chose Tyler Nelson’s Revision Rods-built ’51 Henry J phantom pickup owned by Joe Faso as the “Elite Builder of the Year.” The Builders’ Showcase is a special invitation- only display of professionally built rods in the lobby of the Exhibition building. In 2024, it was the nineteenth year for the Builders’ Showcase. The New Street Rod Products Showcase featured the latest offerings from a wide variety of manufacturers. Over 100 judges marked ballots in five categories and it’s always one of the most anticipated displays in the Exhibit Hall.

are recognized. Qualifications to win are based on the total number of miles club and association members traveled to attend the Nationals. To be considered for this award a club or association member must submit their group’s travel information to the NSRA Membership/StreetScene booth. The longest running mini event at the Street Rod Nationals was the 49th Mopar Country for cars from that corporate origin or those powered by a Mopar engine. Five cars are selected as winners. The Rodders Fest featured bands performing under the big top tent Thursday through Saturday of the 55th Street Rod Nationals. The tent is a place to sit, relax and enjoy some great music. Throughout the 55th Street Rod Nationals four registered participants each won $5,000 in the NSRA Street Rod Nationals $weep$take$ Giveaway. All four tickets were picked from Sunday Lucky Tickets deposited in the tumbler at the Sunday Awards Program.

Thursday and Friday of the Nationals featured the Hot Rod Industry Alliance (HRIA) Education Days. One-hour seminars from 12 manufacturers filled the two days with great information. HRIA Education Days continue to grow each year since they were introduced in 2016. UPS, a great supporter of the NSRA, offers on-site UPS Shipping, a free UPS Weighing Station and the UPS Commercial Way, a special display for commercial vehicles only at the Street Rod Nationals. Everybody loves free and that’s exactly what you get at the Powermaster Engine Analysis tent. Here you can receive a free checkout of your charging and starting system and be given technical solutions if there is a problem. The Kentucky Exposition Center is a huge complex so that’s why the NSRA provides the People Mover during the event to get you where you want to go.
