The Garner Chamber begins this year with a renewed commitment to supporting our local businesses, strengthening partnerships, and fostering a vibrant economy where every member has the opportunity to thrive. We are excited to introduce new initiatives designed to bring our business community together. The Garner Entrepreneurial Empowerment Group will provide bi-monthly opportunities for employers, entrepreneurs, and community leaders to gather for purposeful conversation, resource sharing, and collaboration. We are also expanding regional engagement through the Garner Community Leadership Roundtable, which this year will feature Director Debi Durham along with key political representatives from our area, creating a powerful forum for discussing workforce, housing, and economic development priorities directly impacting Garner’s future. In 2026, the Chamber is also honored to steward the Humanities Iowa Grant, supporting meaningful projects that preserve local history, uplift community storytelling, and honor the legacy of Garner’s past. This grant allows us to deepen our commitment to celebrating our heritage while inspiring new generations to take pride in the people and stories that shaped our community. A highlight of our year will be Duesey Days 2026, themed “A Legacy of Service & Strength: Honoring Those Who Serve, Heal, and Inspire.” This special celebration will shine an important spotlight on individuals in our community who uplift others, and we are especially proud to honor Dr. Scott Wood as our 2026 Duesey Days Grand Marshal! We look forward to celebrating his years of service, compassion, and dedication to the health and well-being of Garner. Garner Chamber Ambassador Program Be the Face, Voice, and Heart of the Chamber
A Garner Chamber Ambassador is a passionate Chamber member who plays a vital role in promoting the Chamber’s activities, initiatives, and mission throughout our community. Ambassadors are relationship builders, connectors, and champions for local business, helping strengthen engagement and amplify the Chamber’s impact. As an Ambassador, you’ll actively network with fellow professionals, welcome and support new members, and assist at Chamber events, creating a warm, inviting experience for everyone involved. Ambassadors also help promote Chamber programs, initiatives, and events, encouraging greater community involvement and participation across Garner. Beyond visibility and connection, Ambassadors serve as an important bridge between members and Chamber leadership. By sharing insights, ideas, and feedback, Ambassadors help shape future programs and services—ensuring the Chamber continues to evolve and respond to the real needs of our business community. What to Expect as an Ambassador?
Ambassadors can expect to spend 3-5 hours per month on their Ambassador duties. Ambassadors participate in committee meetings once a month to support our Membership, Marketing, and Event program areas. Networking: Attend events to network with new and potential members. Attend Chamber member ribbon cuttings and grand openings. Assist the Executive Director with recruiting new member businesses. Social: Encourage others to attend events with personal invitations. Volunteer when you can at our annual events and assist with event support (as a greeter, table host, etc.). This includes the Annual Golf Tournament, Annual Chamber Meeting & Celebration, Duesey Day Events, Health Fair, and much more.
