A s the 2023/24 season nears, the team at Cheltenham Racecourse wish you every success and look forward to welcoming you here with your runners. This booklet will provide you with all the information that you might need for the season ahead, including information on the race programme, racecourse facilities and the experience we aim to deliver to Owners & Trainers. Should you require any further information, please contact Jennifer Dewhurst, Owners & Trainers Liaison via the contact details listed on the back page. Last season was full of highlights however it will be difficult to replicate the atmosphere here on Champion Day of the Festival when we witnessed Corach Rambler complete back-to-back victories in the Ultima Handicap Chase, Constitution Hill leave us breathless with his performance in the Unibet Champion Hurdle and Honeysuckle bow out after such a successful career when winning the Close Brothers Mares’ Hurdle. Truly a day to remember. Next year’s Cheltenham Festival will take place from 12th – 15th March 2024 along with 12 other racedays, each of them having their own important highlights. The Grounds Team led by Alastair King and supported by Nathan Williams who battled drought, frost and heavy rain last season, have also overseen drainage projects this summer which demonstrates our desire to continue improving the turf here at Cheltenham. As a result of the industry-wide review of the Pattern we have seen a handful of changes here, the most notable is the move of the Unibet International Hurdle from its December slot to Festival Trials Day in January. We look forward to even more competitive racing following these changes. We will once again be running our Frequent Runner Scheme with prizes for trainers who have supported Jockey Club South West Racecourses the most throughout the season. The two categories remain as trainers with 40 or more horses in training and less than 40. Full details can be found on our Owners and Trainers webpage.
With the season approaching and the sense of anticipation building for our first fixture on Friday 27th October, we look forward to welcoming you here and hope you have a successful and enjoyable season.
