INTRODUCTION Thank you for your interest in the Site Director of Estates and Facilities role at the Princess Royal University Hospital and Associates South sites of King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust King’s is one of London’s largest and busiest teaching hospitals, with a strong profile of local services primarily serving the boroughs of Lambeth, Southwark, Lewisham, Bromley and Bexley. With over 12,500 colleagues and an annual turnover of £1.1 bn, their specialist services include nationally and internationally recognised work in liver disease and transplantation, neurosciences, haemato-oncology and foetal medicine. The three main sites for the Trust are King’s College Hospital, Denmark Hill, the Princess Royal University Hospital and Orpington Hospital. Guy’s & St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest hospital trusts in the country, with around 17,000 staff, an annual turnover of more than £1.6 bn, and over 2.6 million patient contacts a year. Essentia, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Trust in-house team, is responsible for non-clinical healthcare services. Essentia designs, builds and maintains healthcare infrastructure vital to the smooth running of healthcare services. This encompasses everything from construction projects and healthcare planning to waste management, housekeeping, transport and security. Essentia employs 1,700 people, who provide essential facilities management support to clinical teams.
