WHO CAN BE AN APPRENTICE? Anyone aged 16 or over can become an Apprentice, even those with a degree can now retrain in a subject that is degree. The focus of an Apprenticeship is to develop industry specific skills. It is about the skills you need to learn, not the skills you already have. Apprenticeships generally last between one and six years depending on the level and based on the Apprentice’s competence and experience. It is now possible to achieve degree and master level qualifications through an Apprenticeship. WHAT QUALIFICATION WILL AN APPRENTICE GET? Apprenticeship programmes vary greatly dependant on sector area and level, however all set out clear knowledge, skills and behaviours that support employment needs. At HSDC, we deliver up to degree level, across several sectors and our team can work with you to design a package of training and qualifications to meet your business needs.
