raphic expertise, technology and engineering capabilities to the Group.” According to Durst, combining the technologies will provide additional development and integration options spanning digital and flexographic printing, software, auto- mation and finishing. The company says the expanded platform will also allow it to address a broader range of applications, run lengths and production requirements. MPS will retain its brand and continue developing, manufacturing and marketing its existing portfolio of flex- ographic printing systems. Its management team will also remain in place, with current CEO Michiel Borst becoming managing director of MPS – A Durst Group Company. MPS’ existing direct sales channels will remain in place in Europe. In the United States, Durst US will assume re- sponsibility for sales and service of the MPS portfolio. MPS will also gain access to Durst’s international service and spare-parts infrastructure. Durst emphasized that its existing partnership with OMET will continue independently of the MPS acquisition. Durst and OMET currently develop and market the KJet and XJet hybrid platforms, combining flexographic and digital printing with inline finishing. MPS is headquartered in Arnhem, the Netherlands, and manufactures flexographic printing systems for label and flexible packaging production. BOBST Builds On LOUPE Americas Momentum BOBST closed a busy LOUPE Americas 2026 in Rose- mont, Illinois, having used the show to demonstrate how connected, automated production is helping converters cut complexity and deliver consistent results across la- bels, flexible packaging and folding carton, according to the company. At the BOBST booth, live demonstrations of the DIGI- TAL MASTER 340 All-in-Line label press showed printing, embellishment and die-cutting in a single pass, with inline quality control and native integration between the UV ink- jet digital engine and the automated flexo and converting modules. Following the show, BOBST invites converters to continue the LOUPE momentum by visiting its Compe- tence Center in Atlanta and its West Coast Demo Cen- ter, where the technologies seen at LOUPE are available for live demonstration, trials, training and application development. Splash Graphics, Chicago, Illinois, has installed a new Miraclon Flexcel NX Wide 5080 flexo platemaking sys- tem. The system is its second Miraclon Flexcel flexo platemaker, although the first in the 50 x 80-inch for- mat. Consequently, the company can now produce and ship a greater variety of plate sizes to printers and converters nationwide faster. “For us, the most important benefit of working with Miraclon and Flexcel NX technology is taking advan- tage of their steady drumbeat of innovation,” says Splash Graphics co-owner Dhiren Sanghani. “The Miraclon technical team is constantly making improve- ments, coming up with new technological differences every few years.”

The business began in 1992, a partnership between Sanghani, Valji Patel and Bhavesh Vanani. Since then, it has invested in a series of bold strategic moves and technology partnerships, including a major pivot in 1995 when it added multi-color presses and finishing systems, transforming into a full-service printing com- pany, and investing in CTP in 1999. In 2006, Splash sold the printing operations and re- turned to focus on prepress and platemaking services, with its first Flexcel NX system coming in 2008. Today, the company is focused on brand support, flexo, and offset prepress services, with 60 percent of its business in food packaging, while also serving the medical, healthcare, and shrink-sleeve labels sectors. Additional services include packaging mock-ups and large-format display and signage. Splash’s relationship with Miraclon has included being a beta site for the manufacturer’s PureFlexo Printing triple-form patterning. SolutionsValji Patel and Dhiren Sanghani were two of the three partners that started Splash Graphics in 1992.
