FlippingBook Limited Accessibility Conformance Report WCAG Edition (Based on VPAT® Version 2.4)

Name of Product/Version: Publications created with the FlippingBook Online Platform

Report Date: July 2021 (revised April 2024)

Product Description: FlippingBook Online Platform (https://flippingbook.com/), is software that allows users to bring their PDF documents to life by converting them to HTML5. A flippingbook publication has two main components, the control interface (all buttons, panels, etc.) and the content that is added by the user. FlippingBook Online is a tool where the user has many options to add and adjust content. In this VPAT we evaluate the control interface. We have added notes for criteria where conformance depends on the content that was added by the user.

Standard: This report covers the degree of conformance for the following accessibility standard/guidelines, where there are 3 levels of severity available: from A to AAA (the strictest):

Standard/Guideline Included In Report Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.0 Level A (Yes) Level AA (Yes) Level AAA (No) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level A (Yes)

Level AA (Yes) Level AAA (No)

WCAG 2 is presented in the form of a convenient constructor here.

Terms: The terms used in the Conformance Level information are defined as follows: ● Supports: The functionality of the product has at least one method that meets the criterion without known defects or meets with equivalent facilitation. ● Partially Supports: Some functionality of the product does not meet the criterion. ● Does Not Support: The majority of product functionality does not meet the criterion. ● Not Applicable : The criterion is not relevant to the product. ● Not Evaluated : The product has not been evaluated against the criterion. This can be used only in WCAG 2.0 Level AAA. Next, a table will be presented that describes the levels, with a brief description of each item, and its conformance level.

WCAG 2.1 Report Note: When reporting on conformance with the WCAG 2.1 Success Criteria, the criteria are scoped for full pages, complete processes, and accessibility-supported ways of using technology as documented in the WCAG 2.1 Conformance Requirements.

2.4.3 Focus Order

A Partially Supported There is a known

non-conformance when you add a Lead Capture Form to your flipbook. All other elements receive focus in a meaningful order. There are two main links in the publications - the user’s logo and contact buttons both of which comply. (3) The publication does not rely on multipoint or path-based gestures. The publication functions that use a single pointer are completed when the user releases the pointer. The accessible name of each user interface component that includes a visible text label corresponds to that label text. The publication has functionality operated by device motion or

The publication components do not initiate a change of context when focused. Changes of context do not occur automatically on user input. The only field where the end-user can make an error is by entering a non-existing page number. In this case, we go to the first page of the book instead of signaling an error. A label is provided for each of the publication’s input fields.

Table 3: Success Criteria, Level AAA Notes: Not applicable. The FlippingBook site was not evaluated for WCAG 2.1 Level AAA conformance.

Notes on the Remarks & Explanations 1. Whether the content of the publication meets this criterion depends upon the PDF that the user uploads. 2. To meet this criterion not just for the interface part but also for the content part of the publication, the user should: a. upload a PDF that meets this criterion ; b. make that PDF available for download. (Publications created with FlippingBook Online by default offer the ability to download the PDF.) 3. The user has the possibility to add content to the flipbooks that is subject to this criterion. If the user does this, then they must make sure that the added content complies with this criterion. For example, the user can add video. To comply with criterion 1.2.1, the user should either only add video that contains an audio track with equivalent information for prerecorded video-only content or should provide an alternative for the content, for example by adding a link to a text document with the full description. 4. The standard contrast levels in the interface meet this criterion. However, several color and background settings can be changed by the user. When doing so, the user should ensure that this criterion is still met afterward.
