AUTISM-FRIENDLY PRACTICES Through research and networking, Autism New Jersey has identified numerous autism- friendly practices designed to increase the likelihood of safe and positive interactions between law enforcement and the autism community. Some of these practices are proactive, and others are more “in-the-moment.” The practices contained herein are not intended to be an exhaustive list, but ones considered most appropriate for inclusion in this publication and were operational for the highlighted departments at the time of this publication.
