Dear MAAG Americas Team:
“Uncertainty is the enemy of decision making and with that the enemy of capital spending”. This is how a recent commentator on CNBC framed the difficulties with which companies need to navigate the current political environment. Many of our customers are holding projects; some have announced layoffs, others are closing low-performing plants or taking other measures to reduce costs and compensate slow sales. At MAAG Group we are getting ready to finish our first quarter and report our forecast for the rest of the year with significant decreases from our 2025 budget. We have started several projects to improve productivity, reduce costs, and drive bookings in our locations around the globe. We will adjust the organization over the next months to compensate some of the lower revenue expected for this year. The Americas have also reduced our forecast yet still see potential in the market. 0Dover and other Opex initiatives are driving productivity. Our sourcing team is working hard to keep material costs stable. Our sales and after market teams have increased the frequency to visit customers. The acquired business from Carter Day provides us with a larger revenue stream which MAAG Gala traditional did not get, and we are in the process of fully transitioning the business to Virginia. Focus from everyone to do our very best taking care of customers (internal and external) is important.
