A Message from the Grand Knight
August 17, 2024 On behalf of the officers and members of the Knights of Columbus Santo Niño Council No. 9462, I want to welcome you to our 2024 Installation of Officers Reception. Earlier this morning, we held a ceremony to install the officers for the fraternal year 2024-2025. District Deputy Erwin Lacanienta was assisted by District Warden Renard Gardner, Sr. Fr. Jeff Dauses, our council chaplain, participated in this solemn ceremony. Our council was instituted in 1986 and has held our monthly council meeting every 1st Thursday evening in Cartwright Hall at Immaculate Heart of Mary Roman Catholic Church in Towson, MD. Through the efforts of our Chancellor Joseph Steinbacher and the generous support of High Fleet Corporation, the Santo Niño Council awarded a $5000 grant to Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church for capital improvements in the parish earlier this morning. For the last 3 years, our council has awarded merit scholarships to two graduating Immaculate Heart of Mary School 8th graders. I commend all of our officers and members who have helped successfully complete the many Faith-in-Action Programs in the last fraternal year. There are several pages in this souvenir booklet which are dedicated to present our Faith, Family, Community, and Life Programs. The Knights of Columbus Supreme Council conferred on our council the Fr. McGivney Award (recognizes excellence in our council’s membership growth), the Founders Award (recognizes excellence in the promotion of Knights of Columbus insurance and fraternal benefits), and the Columbian Award (recognizes excellence in our council’s programming and charitable outreach.) Our council achieved 300 percent of our recruiting goal and has been recognized with the Triple Star Council Award. I want to commend and recognize IPGK Modesto Carbon, Jr. He was a trusted advisor and role model for me as a Grand Knight. He is the “ultimate ambassador” for the Santo Niño Council No. 9462. I congratulate all of our officers and members who have helped to make this past fraternal year a success. I look forward to what we can do in this next fraternal year “to make a difference in someone’s life.” Vivat Jesus!
Jay Penafiel, M.D. Grand Knight

A Message from Father Jeffrey Dauses
Dear Friends, It is such a great honor and joy to welcome you to today’s Reception in honor of the Installation of Officers for our Knights of Columbus Santo Nino Council. Today we commission and thank those who will serve as Officers of our Council for the coming year. It is an opportunity both to thank them for their service and to ask God’s abundant grace upon them and upon our Santo Nino Council. Today we honor and thanks those chosen for leadership with our Council. And in doing so, we commend them to the Lord, who gave us the supreme example of leadership when he washed the feet of his disciples at the Last Supper. Thus, the Lord shows us that the heart of true Christ-centered leadership is service. Today, we thank the Knights of our Santo Nino Council, who consistently and constantly show forth their commitment to serve the Lord, to serve our faith, and to serve our parish community. They are always eager to serve, and they repeatedly show forth their commitment to help build and strengthen our parish. Of course, today is ostensibly focused on those who will serve as Officers of our Council. But we all know that every single Knight in our Council (including their wives and families) is a leader – a leader of faith and of service. We thank them, and we thank God for them. In the name of our entire parish, I offer our deepest thanks to our Santo Nino Council for their ongoing and selfless service. They are, indeed, “In Service to One, and in Service to All.” With a thankful heart, and in gratitude to God, the source of every grace and blessing, I am, Sincerely in the Lord, Fr. Jeffrey S. Dauses Pastor Immaculate Heart of Mary and St. Thomas More Pastorate
