As the years went by, Lorne continued to meet the growing needs of the construction industry, leading to the expansion of his company. Thanks to Lorne’s dedication and the unwavering commitment of the exceptional teams at ATS Traffic over the years, we have become the largest 3M™ -certified sign manufacturer and integrated traffic control specialist in Canada. Today, we proudly collaborate with road safety leaders and municipalities to help build safer communities across North America. In 1966, the only hazard marker available was the flare pot, a primitive device filled with kerosene and a burning wick. Seeking a safer and more efficient solution, our late founder, Lorne Hooper, went to his workbench and developed a groundbreaking flashing light attached to a steel barricade. Recognizing its potential, Lorne founded Alberta Traffic Supply Ltd., the first flashing light barricade rental company in western Canada. With just a handful of business cards and a lot of determination, he introduced the product to the Edmonton area — and the rest is history!
